How long it takes to Build your new Custom Home
Initial Planning Stages
Once you agree to use Tison Homes as your home builder we begin assembling the engineering plans to send them over to the county for permitting. Once the county approves of the plan and issues a permit then we are ready to build. This process can take anywhere from 1-4 months from the day you sign a contract with us.
Construction Stage
The construction phase of a new residential build is where your plans truly come to life, starting with site preparation and foundation work, followed by framing, roofing, plumbing, electrical, and interior finishes. Each step is carefully coordinated to keep the project moving smoothly while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. On average, this phase takes anywhere from 4 to 8 months depending on the size, design, and any custom features, as well as factors like weather and permitting. Throughout the process, we focus on clear communication and dependable timelines so you always know what to expect as your new home takes shape.
Finishing Stage
The final stage of a new residential build is when the home truly comes together, with cabinetry, trim, and all remaining finishing touches installed. Details like paint touch-ups, fixtures, hardware, and final adjustments are completed with care to ensure everything looks and functions exactly as intended. Once the work is finished, we conduct a detailed walkthrough with you to review every space, confirm quality, and address any final items. This stage typically takes about 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the level of customization, and marks the exciting step right before move-in.
